A main topic in my speeches has been being an expert and having knowledge of your business. I always preach the benefits of expertise – how clients and customers will seek you out as a source of information. An outline can help you organize your thoughts and direct how your book will flow. This will save you enormous amounts of time in the long run, instead of beginning to write the book right after you have decided on a category.

Listen to the writer before you hire. Whether you are communicating with the writer via phone, Skype or e-mail, make sure you’re listening to or reading what the writer says. If the writer doesn’t use correct English or grammar in those communications, can you trust that you’re going to get a quality written product that’s grammatically correct?

Just as on the news, “reporters” do not necessarily have to be experts in the story they are covering. The reporter gathers the facts, organizes them appropriately, and presents them to their viewers. It is possible to take this approach in your marketing as well. Collect and present the facts, and never take credit for ideas and content which is not yours.

During the process of acquiring my required education, I began to seek out those people in my chosen profession revered for their skills and talents in the areas of embalming and reconstructive art.
